2. Hypernormalisation, a film by Adam Curtis (2016)
I saw this film some years ago, and it has been on my mind since then, not only because it is a provocative and original story of Modernism, brilliantly told through archival clips, but especially because of Curtis’s claim that the art and culture from the mid-60s to the mid-70s is at least partially responsible for the centrality of individualism that is still dominant in our culture.

In 2021, Curtis is showing a new series of 6 episodes on BBC on the same topics, which unfortunately is not available in Canada.

Received a note from Michelle Provost: The latest Adam Curtis series, called:  Can't get you out of my head is in fact available on the BBC's Youtube channel.
